'Fall'ow the Hilly Road

It was a very quiet Sunday for us today. No errands to run. Crockpot Lunch. Church. And, a random drive around the neighborhood. I admire foliage and so the searh was on. There wasn't a lot of it but enough to admire and enjoy. My camera lens witnessed it all!

These are no Ruby slippers but they sure are whimsical.

 I told you there's not much foliage but one tree sure stood out.

After visiting some loved ones who passed. I noticed these beautiful trees.

A Road that curved around.

A hilly road. Kansas is not so flat after all.

I hope your weekend was relaxing and enjoyable.

 Hello Readers. How was your day? It was a long but productive day for me. My day started at the Manhattan's Downtown Farmers Market, which held its First Fall Festival. I had a great day meeting little girl friends who possessed a sweet smile as they walked away from my booth. Then, lunch with family visiting  from Oklahoma. And, one last good...no great thing is a win by Kansas State University against Texas Tech. Wheeee! Non-Tradional Ways to Gift Wrapping

Today, I'd like to share three simple ways on how to gift wrap using an Elastic Headband from Clipits Designs by Joanna Howe.

 

For the book lover like my daughter. You'll need:

Book/s

Elastic headband

Gather the book/s and wrap the headband around it. Add a thoughtful Christmas card.

 

 

 

For the Sweet Tooth.

Brown box or re-use a box on hand and wrap it with brown paper.

Homemade cookies (you may put in other sweet treats in the box)

Christmas card, no envelope

Elastic headband

Get the box and place Christmas card on top of it. Use headband to secure card.

 

 

 

For the Stylish Homemaker

Place Scarf into the Mason Jar. Screw lid on. Then place the card around the jar securing it with the elastic headband.

The long wait was finally over Varsity Donuts officially open its doors in Aggieville. I must say that it was worth the wait. On Thursday, I took Olivia to Varsity Donuts with my friend, Grace and her daughter Himig.  I had promised Olivia that I will surprise by picking her up from school one afternoon and take her to the candy store. That idea all changed after getting a Maple and Bacon donut and seeing their "Varsity Donut" buttons. That gave me the idea of making hair clips out of them. I felt so good being in the donut shop. I saw myself just sitting in one of the chairs, reading the newspaper or magazine and having a cup of coffee with my sugar coated donut. The ambience has that unique appeal for a good photo backdrop. The thought of having a birthday party where the kids can roll out their own dough and decorate their own donuts to take home.  Great idea for Olivia's next birthday party. So next time you're in Aggieville do not forget to swing by at VD.
