While cleaning and organizing the cabinet for my craft supplies, I found plenty of fabric scraps and other craft goodies. One of them were leftover pencils from last year's Christmas that I have bought from Target. It's always a challenge (in a good way) for me to work on the materials I have on hand. And it makes me smile on what I could come up with for a finished product.
Since the pencils were decorated with Christmas print, I got a knife and tried to scrape the print. I was thinking of using sand paper to smooth-en out rough edges later on. But to my surprise the coating on the pencil was actually made with plastic which can be easily peeled using a knife.
Having pencils as a blank canvas you can decorate it however you prefer. You can even have you children use markers for designing their own prints. With our case, my daughter and I used a red ink pad as paint. She had fun.
What are you crafting this weekend?
